Parco delle Cascine

Today, after our Italian class we went to the Parco delle Cascine, since Italian is our only class of the day and so we get done by 9 on Tuesdays!

It was a bit of a walk to the park, but well worth it. In the center, there are almost no trees and greenery in general. So spending some time in a park was very nice. We followed the Arno a majority of the way there too, so we had a lovely stroll.

Luckily, at this park there is a huge market once a week on Tuesdays. A lot of Italian cities have big markets one day a week. There was a ton of stands selling clothes, purses, shoes, fruits and vegetables, meats, sandwiches, and other random household items. It is all really cheap too. Granted, this means a lot of the stuff is cheap, but if you look hard enough, you can find some great deals. We each got 2 things: Kristen got 2 skirts (one that she is going to hem shorter, good thing we are taking a sewing class!) for 3 euro each and I got a long, button-up sweater vest (I know, it sounds lame, but trust me it looks cute) and a watch for a grand total of 9 euro.

I just remembered as we were leaving to take some pictures for you all, so I only have a handful:

Look at that cheese

The stands seemed to go on forever

This huge pile of clothes, only 1 euro each!
