Mine - a little girl's dress
...and a huge, plain black dress
Kristen - a really huge shapeless dress
Keep on reading to see the amazing results!!
Mine - The neck was way too tight so I turned it into a collar and added some decorative buttons. The dress actually fit me really well, so I didn't need to mess with that. To make it more interesting, I used the black fabric at an angle to lengthen the dress.
Kristen - she took the sleeves off and sewed them together to make a scarf. Then she shaped the sleeve holes and finished them off. She replaced those ridiculous buttons, took in the sides, and added elastic to the waist to make it fit better. Finally, due to an accident with the overlock machine that resulted in a hole in bottom part (the DAY BEFORE the shoot O_o), Kristen had to change her plans and sew the pleats together and add more fabric to the bottom to make it long enough.
The fashion shoot was so much fun! We got to see everyone's final product and they turned out so well! There were about 60 of us in total, and I was number 5. We were instructed to walk out and do 6 poses (3 with the chair, 3 without) and walk out to the front of the audience to do a final pose and walk off. The shoot took place in a little church right next door to our school and it was completely full, people were even standing in the back. I was so nervous, my legs were shaking so bad during my turn. But I had a blast!!! And I think all of our pictures turned out so well :)
